There's a new kid on the block, a subject that can revolutionize humanity's understanding of reality, while being completely rational and logical, and scrupulously avoiding faith and mysticism. It's the long-awaited replacement for science.

Only one subject can take over from science and that is the subject that is already at the core of science and gives it all of its power and success, namely mathematics. Science without mathematics is unthinkable. Mathematics without science suffers from no deficiency at all. Science is irrelevant to mathematics, while mathematics defines science. The great mathematician Carl Friedrich Gauss said, "Mathematics is the queen of the sciences." If mathematics is the queen, why do we need the pawns at all?

Everyone has a different answer for what the Self is. But do they have any idea what it really is? Is the Self actually the fundamental unit of existence?

Many people are happy to believe that the universe is made of matter. What would it mean to say that the universe is made of mind? If material atoms are made of subatomic particles, what would immaterial minds be made of? The only thing a mind can be made of is thoughts. After all, that’s what a mind does. It thinks. What does thinking mean? It means using thoughts. It means combining “atomic” thoughts into “molecular” thoughts.

George Orwell, author of 1984, worked for the British Broadcasting Corporation for two years. Reflecting on his experience at the BBC, Orwell said, “Its atmosphere is something halfway between a girls’ school and a lunatic asylum and all we are doing at present is useless, or slightly worse than useless.” Many decades later, the BBC is exactly the same.

How should we describe the places developing new A.I.? Halfway between Comic Con and a lunatic asylum?
